The Adirondack Scenic Railroad 25th Anniversary
On August 12th The Adirondack Scenic Railroad will be celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary. The Adirondack Scenic Railroad is currently operated by The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS). Their mission is to restore and preserve railway services between the High Peaks Region, Central New York, and beyond. They accomplish their mission by partnering with local communities and businesses along the railway.
These communities and businesses then help by promoting the railway as an economic driver, that also offers historic and environmental educational opportunities. ARPS’s vision as an organization is to grow by expanding their railroads and coordinate trail-based routes. This will allow people of all ages and physical abilities to be able to travel and experience the remote areas of the Adirondacks.
On August 12th join them to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the railroad which will be a fun packed weekend full of different activities. You will be able to take a trip to the past and ride on a vintage 1924 Baldwin 0-4-0 “Viscose Company” #6 steam engine and enjoy all the beautiful parts of the Adirondack park. Scott’s Jump n Fun Party Rentals will be providing a Fire Truck Playhouse, Trackless train rides, and other amusement rides for the children.
The Adirondack Scenic Railroad will also be providing food trucks and snack trolleys at the event. Kiss FM will be broadcasting live during the event as well as playing music all day.
